Booked mine in at a little place in Chorley. Needed a Saturday though so its a couple of weeks out (mid december). Just a thought @MilesperkWh - will that be at the new premises by then?
No - the SR doesn't have the radar unit (mounted in centre of front lower grill) or the camera (mounted in windscreen) - along with the extra buttons on the cruise control stalk.Received my letter last night and booked in for 8.30 am tomorrow. They said I also needed a media screen update so they'll do that at the same time. I noticed the new LR has the Pilot pack. Can my 12 month old MG5 be updated to this pack?
Couldn't say, all they said on the phone was that the rails need an inspection so they'll do it at the same time. Why are they looking at the roof rails?
There is a recall for the rails but I thought that was just to pop a sticker in the manual saying 35kg?Couldn't say, all they said on the phone was that the rails need an inspection so they'll do it at the same time.
I had one of those letters. Booked it in at the dealers - estimated to take 4 hours. "You'll need a courtesy car unless you want to sit here for that long..."Hi
Just received my recall letter
(Photo below of letter)
Booked in for the 2/12/21
They said it should take around 30mins (we will see ?)
Thanks for the response. That sorts that out. TBH I thought if it was a free upgrade why not but I've never had it so not going to miss it. I've been quoted 30 mins for my brake update so I'll see tomorrow. Rarely use KERS 3 anyway. No - the SR doesn't have the radar unit (mounted in centre of front lower grill) or the camera (mounted in windscreen) - along with the extra buttons on the cruise control stalk.
It's most likely hardwired, with light bulb monitoring that most cars have, it would easy for the ecu to to send power to the light bulb - if kers3 is on and regen is detected over a certain ampage. It's interesting in itself that the brake light is driven by software and not hardwired.
I needed a software update on my phone/infotainment system & have taken it in twice yet MG Minstergate haven't been able to do it because of MG server issues. They say it's up then crashes so told me to hand on till they spoke to MG.Dropped my car off at the dealer this morning for some warranty related work and got some very interesting news.
On the work schedule there was an additional item for a KERS 3 Brake Light Operation safety update.
This was actually described to me as a safety recall with letters to owners due to go out in a few days time.
Seems like MG have been listening after all.
