MG5 v VW ID.3 v Hyundai Kona Electric – Which is our real world miles per £ winner? / Electrifying

I watched this, they didn't seem to take purchase cost into account at the end unless I'm missing something?

Not sure if purchase cost was linked to the cost per mile based on WLTP range somehow?

Conclusion seems to be that they all did essentially what they were meant to do - all were fit for purpose. All had pro's and con's, some were more desirable in the eyes of the reviewers than others, Guess that's why there are lots of different makes and models of EVs (and cars) available.

In summary, buy what you like and what fits your needs ?‍♂️

They also did not take into consideration of any battery heating or cooling while charging that could sque any conclusions

MrKlaw in the Youtube comments seems to have worked it out:

MG 3.63 m/kwh 61.1kwh = range 221.8m £26495 = £119.45 per mile of real range
VW 3.67 m/kwh 58kwh = range 212.86m £28420 = £133.51 per mile of real range
Kona 4.08 m/kwh 64kwh = range 261m £32550 = £124.71 per mile of real range

The MG being about £2K cheaper than that with the Affinity discount.

Buy the best you can afford. Only one in my price range was the MG 5 on an affinity deal. No way I could afford the VW or Kona.
