G'day from down-under (Australia).

Took delivery a few weeks ago and have just discovered somethihng I think is a bit odd.

Just checking that I have not missed the obvious ?

Car supplied with two keys - but when my wife tries to bind her phone/app with the car, it tells her it is already bound (to my phone I guess).

Is that right ?

Surely two people with two keys can each access the car via the app on their respective phones ?

If not - this seems like a really dumb failing..

Hooefully I've got it all wrong..

@WestAussieNick

Your wife needs to log into the app with the same login that you have already set up.

However, I agree with the principle that, ideally, 2 people should be able to actively use the app without one logging out the other.

Aha, the boss's son logged his mum in on Sunday, no wonder I can't get in.

What a stupid system, it should log in either or both phones whenever.

How do I get her out and me in again PLEASE, I have a steering wheel down me trousers

Last time I got this message Susanna.

The top one, then laddy messed with it and I got the second one on Sunday.

@Big Ears

I understand that it’s now possible to unbind a vehicle from the iSMART app - maybe they were doing this in the belief that it was necessary to bind the car to a new phone?
As previously mentioned, the car is bound to one account, but can be accessed by any phone using the same login details.

I don't get the 72 hours bit at all, I was at the dealer's trying to set it up and they were struggling with it so much that they did a total reset on it, the app would NOT scan the QR code at all it just didn't give the option in the app to do it, I'm glad that you don't actually need it to use the car, but I do wonder if down the line that it may cause issues, such as it unlocking the car etc on it's own.

You are I think getting a bit conflicted. Car can only be bound to one app. If previous owner (or dealer) bound the car to their app then you used to have to either ask them to unbind or contact MG to unbind. With new version of app you can request unbinding instead, if they do not unbind within 72 hours, the system will automatically unbind for you, and you can then procedd to bind car to your app.
You cannot bind two phones using seperate apps to the car (as above), you can however log on seperately to the app. If you are logged into the app and your wife logs in (using the same login details) then you will get dumped out and she will have control, and vice versa.

Ah, I see, you are probably right, it's all becoming clear slowly, I will leave it until later in the week.

then see what happens.
The other thing is that if you bind using a phone number Instead of email, it might only allow that phone number to access the app - not sure but possible.
