Most recent Infotainment update for SE SR

From what I've read, the most recent Infotainment software seems to vary according to the MG4 version? Does anyone know the latest software version for the base model SE standard range? Is it R63?

No - SE in the UK is R38, R63 is only Trophy (unless you want to do a lot of hacking to get the Trophy infotainment installed on the SE)

Thanks for responding so quickly. I need to check it has R38 installed when I collect the car next week then. Are there many bugs with R38 that folk have reported?

It will only have the infotainment updated if a fault/issue is logged with the dealer although some (probably very few) may do it before delivery.

I'll request that the dealer does the update before I collect the car. I did say they before I ordered it so hopefully they'll do it. Surely all updates should be applied at the first service if not on delivery at least?

Unfortunately it looks like my "new" car was actually made in 2022 and has been sitting unsold since then so god knows what software it will have!

I think you'll probably find your dealership will only update your software if your car has a fault which requires an update to fix it, unless you want to pay to have it updated. They only get payment from MG if the update is necessary for whatever reason, so most are reluctant to spend what can be quite a few hours on updates, if they don't get reimbursed.
My SE LR is running R13, which I believe is pretty ancient, but I don't have any real problems with it, so I figure if it ain't broke, why try to fix it?
