Hi all,

I'm getting the following fault coming up quite regularly.

It's searched previous posts that mentioned turning it on and off with no luck.

Driving performance doesn't appear to be impacted however the light comes on and off 4/5 times in a 10 minute journey.

Could anyone please advise on the potential issue and resolution.

Thanks in advance

Honestly, your best option is to talk to a certified MG garage, they can scan the car to see what codes are stored, it can be anything from imminent catastrophic failure, to a £2 sensor that is going bad.

"Indicates that the drive motor has detected a fault. As soon as conditions permit, safely stop the vehicle and switch the vehicl le power system to the OFF position and contact an MG Authorised Repairer immediately."

The extract from the manual - just a wonder if anyone has faces the above issue and what work did you have done?

It sounds serious, but may just be a faulty sensor. It would probably be best to take the car to your dealer for them to investigate and fix the issue before it becomes something that prevents your driving the car.

It may be that you're rushing the start up procedure. Just make sure you press and hold your foot on the brake until "READY" comes up on the dash. A few people, including myself, have been caught out by this, releasing the brake pedal before ready appears.

Very true, a number of people have fallen foul to this situation.
Keep you foot firmly on the foot brake, until you hear the "Ready" light and bong!.
If you select a drive function BEFORE you get the fully boot up process has completed, the car will object and throw up a warning.
Let the car do it's checks before trying to move off.

Doesn't sound like a start up issue to me...

Not to me either, and i always step on the brake, press the start button and release the brake pedal, and mine turns on fine every time. (Except that one time i got an error message saying that the start button was defective. Car still drove and it erased the next startup though :) )

It might be different on the gen 2 then.
My gen 1 has only shown the HV battery fault twice and both times it was when I rushed the startup.

Yeah mine has done this a few times, but after a short period clicks under the car and the message goes away.

I never thought of waiting to see if it cleared, I just switched it off and started again, slowly, each time.

Unfortunately my MG4 EV has this fault come up repeatedly - most of the time it doesn't affect the performance of the drive but occasionally the car judders significantly and loses power temporarily. Anyone else had this issue / got a solution??

Maybe better asked in the MG4 forum...
