I'm thinking of joining the wireless jet-set by buying a Motorola MA1 adapter for my Moto G9 phone. (yes I know it's ancient). The only cause of hesitation is my phone is only 4G whereas the MA1 is 5G. I don't know enough about these things to decide if it will work. Any help out there?

Most of the wireless dongle adaptor thingies say your phone will need to be on Android 11 or above. Mines on 9 and will not go any higher with updates so I'm guessing won't work with a wireless connection or will not be much good if they do . Swapping out a perfectly good phone ( in other respects ) is galling , so I will stick with the wire unless someone else can suggest better.

Thanks BigAl. My G9 is Android 10, but I have connected/binded it to the car using a cable with no problem. My concern was that I didn't want to splash out 50 quid for wireless adapter only to find the thing didn't work. DMeine said the reference to 5GHz is nothing to do with the 4G limit of my phone, so I guess everything should work.

Android 10 might be updatable to 11? Check the specifications of each adapter to see what they will work with, and finally have any family members , friends ,neighbours an adapter in their car you could test your phone in its present state on, before lashing out?

I think I'm the cheapskate of the family, (and the oldest), they all have the latest smartphones. To tell you the truth, I'm wondering if I need to bother with it all. I have my music on USB, the in-car satnav is ok-ish and the phone works fine. All without cables or adapters. On second thoughts I'm ditching the idea. Thanks for all your advice.
