Hi all
I’m a disabled Motability driver and need help to plan a trip for holiday in July to Heroes Haven in Swanage Dorset.
I live in Darwen Lancashire and would love to take my MG ZS EV down there but have real angst about charging and range as I have only ever charged at home and never been more than 50 miles from home in my MG . PLEASE HELP !

Zap Map, A better Route Planner (ABRP), WattsUp, are just a few of the apps that can help you with this.

Have a look on YouTube for videos that show you how to plan a journey using Zap-Map. I found them very useful.

I have used Zap Map to plan a 180 mile journey this weekend from Sheffield to Lucker in Northumberland. It was really handy and I feel very reassured about the trip. We have a Plan A and a Plan B just in case.

I've created this plan. It uses the newer Gridserve Electric Highway Chargers and Ionity. These should be reliable. They both use a contactless credit card for payment.

If you charge to 100% you may be able to miss the first charge stop out. Especially if you don't do more that 65 MPH.

Nice work, shame you couldn't avoid the millionaires option Ionity :)

I try and keep them as a last option, reliable but bloomin pricey

If you charge to 80% at the stops you will arrive with a little more in the battery and this would be less stressful. Except for Ionity which are a bit pricey, say 70% there and there is an Osprey Rapid charger in the Buttermarket, Poundbury, and some 7 kW chargers on Swanage beach,

Likewise I to am a Motability customer, I picked my car up on Monday in St Helens and drove to Clacton on Sea from the dealership, I did check my route first on ABRP but to be fair it was the route I always use the only difference was stopping at Rugby on the M6 and Gridserve in Braintree Essex. I was a little nervous I must admit but after my first charge it was so easy and all the stress went out of the window. Go for it and enjoy it, good luck.??

@Buster1967 .
This video has just been posted tonight.
You may be able to relax a little more after watching it.
Motorway trip at 90 kw/h ( 56 MPH ) in good weather conditions, returned an achievable range of 250 km's.
That is 160 miles of actual range after a full charge.
With a usage range of 41.1 kwh from the HV battery.
