Hi all - just bought an MG4 Trophy and currently at the 'snagging' stage with the dealers - I have some (probably naive) questions and would appreciate any insights before approaching them;
1) Sat Nav not working even though authorisation ticked!
2) Can't seem to pair any smartphones via bluetooth!
3) Tried to charge to 100% for a long journey but got to 97% then didn't seem to want to go any further - is this normal?
4) Odd curvy marks on the plastic panels on both sides (see photos)!
5) Rear clear plastic light cover seems to trap moisture (see photo)!
6) Rather lightweight parcel shelf axle snapped with very little provocation!
Am I expecting too much given that one of the main selling points is that it is a bargain?
I should say that apart from the 'snags', I'm loving the experience.
Appreciate your help/comments with any of the above!

Swirly marks look like poorly executed polishing.

Moisture (condensation) in the light rear cluster is not uncommon - and it's not just an MG4 thing. It should dry out. (The LED lights inside are sealed units).

The axle (catch) of the parcel shelf shouldn't break easily - if it has then get the dealer to fix/replace it.

Satnav also needs Privacy options ticked - search this board for this topic, or look in the sticky Tips thread. Likewise for Bluetooth - you might need software updates.

Thanks siteguru, I'll mention the swirly marks when it goes in but imagine that they can be cleaned off without too much trouble, and I'm reassured regarding the moisture.
I imagine that the staff will be able to sort my parcel shelf, Sat nav and bluetooth issue when I see them too.
What do you think about the charging up to 97% issue?

Swirling in paint work is quite common even on new cars. In order to rectify it properly the car will need professional mopping.

Yeah the marks on the black panels look very much someone has taken a quick mop over the paint with some polish and gone over the plastic panels rather than keeping it on the painted surfaces. Its the reasons most pros will tape up joins so even if they do go slightly over its not damaging the plastic (which is much easier if unpainted).

With a bit of a baby wipe you can probably clean off the polish

You can't really diagnose a charging issue from a single case. Have you tried other chargers of different types? Is it consistent?

Has the car ever had a full 100% balancing charge on a slow/sub-11kW charger. That will be needed for proper calibration of the battery, especially if you own the standard range model.

Parcel shelf is flimsy but then most modern cars seem to have a very flimsy design. Perhaps weight and cost saving taken to the extreme?

That's a good point ... what are you using to charge the car @Don McKenzie?

Thanks to all for replying - I'm obliged and grateful for your support.
Don't think it was fully charged when I picked it up and I've been charging to around 80% - this was the one time I tried to put a full charge in (as I had a longer journey to make) and it was with a super-duper (up to 150kWh) charger (at a super-duper charge rate too) and I got impatient when it seemed not to want to go past 97%.
Shengis - you're not joking about the integrity of the parcel shelf!

Ultra-rapid chargers are not intended for 100% charges ... their sweet spot is 80-90% ... and you'll likely annoy other EV owners if you block a charge point waiting for a 100% charge. :)

Even though it's very good advice and Don McKenzie shouldn't block rapid chargers unnecessarily , it's not the answer.
The MG4 will charge to 100% only on AC. Other cars like the Hyundai Ioniq do the same thing.

So I was right then ... given that I said waiting for a 100% charge (which would never get there). ;)
Most won't charge to 100% as the BMS and CCU have different ideas of what 100% is usually as the BMS "hides" part of the capacity from the CCU to try and prevent overcharging in modern EVs, and the BMS is bypassed during DC charging it's just to what extent the discrepancy is.
