I bought a new car (MG 4 Standard model 2022 ) and from the first day I noticed manufacturing defects such as air entering the car at high speeds. Unfortunately, the seller was a bit deceitful, he did not update the software and said the car is working, why do you want to update it! But all this is not the problem, the problem is that the battery health is 95 percent and it is a new car with only 500 km, he told me it seems that you do not want the car and we agreed that I would return the car to him. Is this normal and that the health of a new battery is the same or is there a defect and I really have to return the car ?

I would return the car and get another one from a different dealer. If you don't you will always have that nagging doubt "is there something else wrong"

At the moment only approved MG dealers can update the software.

Isn't the standard range SOH readout time based?

That's info i have observed on this forum.
That's been surmised here, but I don't think anyone has posted categoric proof of it.

My battery showed 95% SoH at the first year service ... I'm not expecting that to change much at the next service.

it is just a very awful situation for me , i decided to have a new car to avoid problems and wasting time but it does not going well

unfortunately he is an official dealer !

i don't understand what do you mean , but i think the computer in the car calculate it well !

My dealer told me my battery was at 100% at the first service. I am not actually sure I believe them.
Actually he told me that too , i just ask the technician to print me the report ( i believe that he get problem ) and the surprise it's 95% in the first 500 KM

I think they make it up sometimes, my dealer said it was at 99% SOH, but when I checked it on the car scanner app it showed 100% SOH (2.8k miles, 12 months old, never rapid charged)

I'm sure that a 1% difference between using car scanner and the dealer tool is perfectly acceptable. Why do you believe car scanner anyway, it's a generic piece of software (and often the free version) that could easily be 1or 2% out or even more than an OEM dedicated and more sophisticated analysis tool.

Someone posted a graph and a prediction, and then a SOH reading to confirm prediction which seemed to affirm that theory ... there's some smart cookies out there, like that guy who unlocked KERS6

Someone posted a graph and a prediction,
The one I remember was indeed ruler straight, BUT with one or two ticks up or down. My guess is that the ruler straight part is 99% prediction (occasionally the prediction will coincide with an actual calculation), but the ticks up or down are actually calculations. Of course, even the calculations are imprecise, but at least they are based on some history and measurements.

With my old ZS, the car scanner app showed 100% for 2.5 years and the dealer also reported 100% on the first two services. When I checked it at 2.5 years old it had just started to drop to 98.7%, I traded it in just before the third service so I didn't see their reading for that.
