Hi,

Just set-up ovms. Now plugged into the car I am only seeing the 12v information and location.

I will go through the setup instructions again to check if I missed something, but just asking if anyone has seen this before.

I get the same on the open vehicles website.

One thing I will double check is the mg ZS country, that shows A in the first image, could mean Australia rather than UK.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Issue resolved. It was simply down to having the wrong OBD2 cable.

The OVMS unit was previously fitted to a Nissan leaf, this has different pin outs to standard.

Isn't that State of Health, not State of Charge? That's estimated capacity divided by nominal capacity times 100%. Batteries do degrade of the order of 1% health per year. MG fib a little by reporting any value over 100% as 100%, so you don't notice the initial high degradation that is normal with every battery in the first year. Their nominal capacity is a little on the low side compared to typical, so usually you see 100% for the first year or two.

If it's actually SoC (State of Charge), it may be calculated in Ah, so that when full, SoC = SoH, and when half full, it's not 50% but 50% of SoH.

It would be good to know how the car actually does report these figures.
