Newby questions before ‘pulling the trigger’

There is no tinting or UV protection on any glass in the ZS EV, MK1 or MK2.

The Moonroof is the only exception.
The Gen 1 offers NO tinting at all ( only the sky roof ) the glass is pretty much 99% clear glass.
In summer conditions, the inside of the car gets really hot unless you have the HVAC running.
The Gen 2 on the other hand does have a very slight tint to the side glass ( but still not strong enough IMO ).
I had it verified buy the tint guy ( using a meter ) who tinted both our Gen 1 & then our Gen 2 ZS EV two years latter.
A basic simple DIY test can be done by holding a A4 sheet of brilliant white printer paper, behind the side glass and then comparing the level of colour change effects on the white paper.
When the face lift was first released, glass tint was one of the first questions Miles was asked, on the then regular Monday night pod cast.
He did confirm that the facelift HAD received a very slightly tint to the glass by the factory.
Which was most welcomed by previous ZS EV owners looking to upgrade I think.
When first viewing / test driving the face lift model, our Gen 1 model was parked right alongside it.
The drivers door glass on our previous model was still in the factory state, the facelift model had only arrived the afternoon before our test drive.
So, it had not received any further tinting to the factory glass, but you could clearly see the difference in both cars when they where side by side.
We only decided to increase the strength of the tint from the "B" pillar back, to offer more protection to our grand children, who regularly travel in the back of our car.

Had my windows tinted yesterday. Luna on the rears and legal limit on drivers and passengers doors. £250. Global Tint. Before and after pictures. Told not to open the windows for 1 week. I was a bit concerned that they would be too dark at night when you have to look through the rear windows. But they are fine. The reflections are trying to look into the rear windows. Hope that this helps with your decision. The 4th pic is through the rear window.
