Octopus does It Again!! (Tariff Reduction July 2024)

I've just got an email from the very best energy supplier - Octopus to state their Intelligent Octopus Go tariff prices have reduced to:-

Standing Charge 65.373p (unchanged)
Peak 22.283p (down 3.55p)
Off Peak 7p (Down 0.5p)

This is great news for all of us, especially the Octopus IOG customers (for the others it puts pressure on the company's to lower prices).

You missed a significant bit for us non-intelligent customers. They added an extra hour for overnight charging so it will now be 0030-0530Hrs.

Thanks for the update, they only told me about IOG - thats what i use!

Great news for all concerned, have they reduced the prices of GO too?

The reduction in night rate is barely worth mentioning.

In case you haven't seen the email. Prices should be going down. In my area (SE England) the off-peak will be 7p p/kWh (from 7.5p) and the peak 24.450p (from 27.978p) the standing charge remains at 54.831p per day.

All include VAT and effective from 1st July.

My Octopus Go will change from 1st July. Now 5 hours 00.30 to 05.30 @ 8.5p/kWh. Day rate now 24.39p/kWh standing charge unchanged 47.849p.??

In my area Edinburgh) Currently 61.25 SC

05:30 - 23:30	26.52p/kWh
23:30 - 05:30	7.5p/kWh

After 1st of July SC does not change. 22.965 and 7 are the new tariffs for myself. I wonder what will happen re feed in tariffs?
I am on Intelligent tariff for the above timings

Higher population density makes the infrastructure cheaper per customer to maintain. No areas like mine with a big transformer and hundreds of metres of overhead cables to serve four houses.
