I wanted to ask please, does anyone know what the brand / model of the OEM tyre is for the XPOWER?

I know they’re Bridgestone Turanza’s - but is there a specific model number or name for the XPOWER?

I believe it's the same as the Trophy ... T005?

Of course, you could just go look at your car. ;) (Assuming you actually have it, as your forum profile suggests).

Bridgestone Turanza T005 EV - 235/45 R18 98W

Thank You!!! ☺️

I would hope I have it, especially after having over £600 worth of tyres fitted this morning!

I notice @CarbonEV has chosen 245/45 instead of the original 235/45 profile tyres. Checking the rolling circumference they are only 1.2% more than the OEM size. If 245/40 profile tyres had been fitted (increase in width, decrease in profile) then they would actually have a rolling circumference 2.4% less than the OEM fitment. This would effect the gearing and speedometer far more than the 45 profiles fitted. The difference in diameter (235 to 245) is 8mm, so only about the same as a new tyre and worn tyre (4mm wear).
They will also fill the arches slightly more, but probably not noticeable, and hopefully no clearance issues due to the extra width on the fronts when on full lock.

This is more than I can understand at the moment,

But next time I will go for 255 at the rear with 40 profile,

I like the wider look!

But you wouldn't even notice the difference. 🙂👍
Probably not in terms of perception but small changes in wheel diameter have a big effect on wheel circumference. Bigger than it might seem because there is multiplication or division going on with Pi as part of any calculation.

I don’t mean to go all nerdy, but also the car is designed with a tyre size for the wheels. If you change it then you should probably tell your insurance company. They will almost certainly use that against you if you need to make a claim and they don’t know about it and find out!

It’s not something I’d mess with. It might actually be safer, but insurance companies will use any excuse to not pay out. The incorrect size tyres gives them a nice excuse.
