I've got an Ohme charger, but it will not charge my MG HS PHEV. The charge history, on checking the OCPP statuses (communication between the car and the charger), I noticed the car appears to have gone into a faulted state called 'SuspendedEV'. This means that even though Ohme was scheduling and attempting to send out a full charge, the car was limiting what it could accept. Ohme say this is something usually seen when there are settings in the vehicle or a third-party app that may be restricting the charge. Do you know of any such settings that might be conflicting with Ohme, and how they can be reset on the MG?

I've switched to Octopus Go, but the tariff has nothing to do with my issue - it's an issue with a car app setting that is preventing the charge.

I have Octopus Go and use a PodPoint charger with no issues. The car does not have scheduling, as you know, and so it's fairly 'dumb' in that respect with all scheduling done via the charger.

Sorry if you know this already, but I notice you only joined yesterday and wondered if the car was new. There is a known issue with the charging socket/lock mechanism. When you plug in and lock the car, there should be a 'zipping' sound as the lock engages. If there are other sounds or if it sounds rough the lock might not be engaging properly. When this happens the dash display might show connected but the car won't charge.

To avoid this, many people have taken to gently supporting the charging cable connector at the car end as they lock the car. It seems that sometimes the weight of the cable can cause the connector to drop slightly and cause the problem. I had exactly this problem initially with the charge and couldn't work out what I was doing wrong.

Thank you very much GCB. The car is actually coming up to its first MOT very shortly, but have only recently had the Ohme charger installed (wish I hadn't now, obviously). Your description of the issue with the charging socket/lock mechanism is very informative. Thanks for that!
