Our MGZSEV has only shown 144 miles in Normal mode after its last two full charges on both its Granny and Wall Box home charger. Since the better weather it always showed 161 miles after charge.

Past mileage records were cleared before charging prior to using the mentioned chargers.

The ZS has covered 4000 miles,

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue and know a remedy?

Do you have any heating/fan switched on? 144miles is about what it would show with the fan on.

No problem. It’s nothing to worry about ? to double check also look at your fully charged voltage with no fan on. It will show about 456v or 450v depending on your version of software.

@Cocijo I am thinking the same thing.
I am going to make a guess that the OP is running on the latest BMS given that his predicted range is 161 miles in the default mode, after a full charge & balance.
I think the HVAC has been left switched on and it reducing the predicted range instantly on boot up, but we will see  .

@Tom Hartley your figures sound perfectly normal to me. I never drive my car without HVAC on-what’s the point? It’s a car. A Tool to do a job. I want to be comfortable. I never used Eco or Sport either and always kept it in Kers 3. 144 miles sounds the same as what I was getting. Sometimes it would be a little more sometimes less. But it always did it.

It is a guess, nothing more, nothing less.

My current car regularly guesses between 280-300 miles.

Hello and thank you all for sharing your knowledge.
I personally put the ZS on charge yesterday and followed the guidance provided, the outcome was 163 miles in normal ( shown on the "GOM").
Questions:
1. Have I missed something in the manual that instructs charging requires all to be "switch off".
And
Is "163 " good / real, in warm weather as I have read on this site owners recording, 200+ . miles

No it it can be switched on whilst charging, very often when rapid charging you may be sitting in the car so may have the radio on / HVAC etc.

You have the perfect 163 (WLTP) GOM range, that means that your battery state of health must still be 100% :)
The weather is irrelevant when getting this baseline range reading.

If you do not reset your trips then you will get all sorts of GOM range shown, all dependant on past stored driving data - higher or lower than 163miles.
It is all meaningless for comparison purposes when people quote 200 odd miles etc range.
If you want to "feel good", go do a 50 mile drive in dry 25c conditions at 30mph without hardly stopping and no A/C, then recharge without resetting trips and look at your GOM. If you want to be scared, go do a 50mile drive in very wet 0c at 70mph with the heater on max, then recharge without resetting trips and look at your GOM.....
