As I live high up in the Scottish hills, I changed the stock tyres on my car last October for all-season Goodyears. The Goodyears have been fine all summer so I don't envisage putting the Contis back on as summer tyres (as I thought I might want to do). The Contis are therefore for sale, to be collected by the buyer from West Linton in Peeblesshire.

Tyres have done approximately 5,000 miles and are in good condition. I was thinking £100 the set, but I'm open to offers.

I'm exactly the same, and not clashing with Rolfe commercially (I hope you don't mind me using your thread!) as she lives several hundred miles north of me.

I have a set of four from a 2002 SE that did 6000 miles, and I then replaced them with all-season Goodyear tyres.

Again, collection only, I live in Wolverhampton WV5 West Midlands and they can all go as a set of four tyres for £100.

I also have four wheel trims that are brand new, I took them off when I got the car, at £50 each ono (they're £60 each used and scratched on ebay!) or £160 for all four.

I'm away until 16 September though. Please private message me if interested.

You're welcome. We can use this thread to match tyres with new owners as geography dictates. (You might want to start a separate thread for the wheel trims though, so that people see it.)

It seems to me to be a bit early for people who are happily using the original tyres to be wanting a new set, but when that time comes there may be takers. I didn't have a problem with mine, and I'd have kept them on if I'd just been doing town driving, or indeed used them as summer tyres if I'd fitted full winter tyres. But since the Goodyears seem fine all year round and it saves paying to have them changed, I'll just keep them on.

My only thought is that if we have a bad winter and I find the Goodyears can't cut it, I might want to go back to swapping twice a year and then I'd have a use for summer tyres again. But that's looking a long way ahead and it may never happen, so if I can unload the Contis that's more space in the garage.

Thank you, I'll do a new thread once I'm back from leave for the trims. I thought the original tyres were good too, but I got offered the Goodyears also 2nd hand with 6k miles on them at a good price.

I just need the space now in the garage!

I'm in just the same position. If nobody wants to buy them I'll keep them for possible summer use in future, but I could do with the space in the garage. However, after a horrendous winter when I first got my Golf, I have absolutely no intention of driving a car in summer tyres here between November and April.
