Hi all, has anyone had the parking 'P' light on the dash and the hand brake light remain on even when you switch everything off? I had this today, locked and unlocked the car a few times, drove a bit more and then brought it to park again, took the key out of range, but both the 'P' and the band brake lights remained on. Locked the car and when I came back to check after 10 min they had turned off. This hasn't happened before so not sure if I've inadvertently engaged something - any clues??

They remain on for a while on my MG5 but I've not timed them.
They do definitely go off but they come back on if you press the unlock button (sans key).

On the ZS EV - When you lock the car, the red LED warning light on the electric handbrake switch, will stay ON for about 30 seconds ( ish ).
Pretty sure it displays the warning light in the dash panel as well ????.
This can be clearly seen at night of course, through the drivers side window.
There is definitely a time delay, before the warning light goes out, why I have no idea ?‍♂️.
But it is completely normal.
Similar time delay with the seat belt warning light in the main dash panel cluster.
This has a delay time before turning off also when driving away.

Thank you both. I've not seen this previously in my car. When I switch power off everything closes instantly, only this time there seemed to be a delay. Very strange.....I'll try and time it if it happens again

You can, but I would not bother to be honest, as it happens every single time !.
You don’t spit it in the day so much, but when locking the car at night, you will see the delay time clearly on the red handbrake warning light.
With it being an electronic handbrake, it maybe some type of safety protocol ?.
It maybe be normal on other cars, but it is the way the ZS EV has been set up.
You can stop worrying about it, it’s completely normal !.

I never noticed it on the ZS, as I usually turn it off and get out straight away, but SWMBO did on her 5 the first time she used it.

I noticed today, that as soon as you unlock the doors, with the fob or the button on the door, the red handbrake light and the red brake light on the dash panel, both light up straight away.
Before you even get chance to OPEN the drivers door, let alone get into the car.
If you then re-lock the car, it must trigger the delay cycle.
Then both lights go out, after a short time.

Yes, I've noted the same, and it does switch off after 30 seconds. Maybe I was worrying about nothing...!
