Hello, I've been away a while, but I had to get this off my chest.

I've just bought a Eufy robot vacuum. It has a phone app.

You sign up for the app, then you choose "add device" and it'll pair with the robot.

Then if you want to, you invite someone else -- your spouse, whatever -- to install the app and sign up. Once you have, you can "share device", enter that person's ID, it'll send them an invitation. One they accept, you both have independent accounts on the app, and you both have access to the robot.

It's an absolute disgrace that our cars don't have this.

It's a disgrace that my wife and I have to share a password, to manage the car we share. It's a disgrace than when one of us signs on, the other is signed off.

And it's not just MG. It's also Ohme.

They really ought to fix it.

You can (or used to be able to) share your car's digital key with another account. What exactly that enabled the other person to do I'm not sure, other than get close to the car with their phone, unlock it and start driving it.

I can imagine there are a whole load of situations where the possibility of 2 people controlling the same vehicle from afar would be very difficult to deal with in all circumstances. I wouldn't trust them to get that right even if they did want to spend the money to implement it.

However, having 2 accounts logged in to be able to view the car information at the same time doesn't sound too problematic.

Ah, the language of the tabloids. Got to love it.

"It's a disgrace".

No matter how much impact it has or what it means for anyone, it's an absolute disgrace. Not a minor inconvenience but a DISGRACE. A POX ON THE NAME OF MG!

Calm down a bit - and I don't say that lightly.

This is NOT something that's worth getting angry about. Use that energy and perhaps send your feedback to MG rather than a user forum - remembering two things:

1. It's not a disgrace. It's a thing you will learn to deal with.

2. It's one of the smallest inconveniences that these cars will probably present you with.

We have a VW ID4 and we have to account/password share with this. You can have multiple accounts but the main account is the only useful one, other accounts are classed as guests and have no real use, especially with the charging system.
