I read it in the Telegraph yesterday. Its bollocks.................
...IF we can trust the information they describe:
That on its own sounds highly implausible to me. Cars are always designed with stronger brakes than motors. Deceleration due to braking is always stronger than acceleration.* Motor is strong enough to overcome any braking action by the driver, does not cut out.
Here's and explanation of Brake By Wire, clearly whats reported simply cant be true, failure of the system does not result in no brakes.

There's a lot more information in this article about these iPace incidents:

How Jaguar I-Pace EV has been involved in spate of crashes
Several owners have reported terrifying experiences with the luxury £80,000 model in Britain which has seen them crash into houses or drive off car parks.www.dailymail.co.uk
IF we can trust the information they describe:
- Vehcile declares a fault.
- Car keeps accelerating without accelerator input.
- Motor is strong enough to overcome any braking action by the driver, does not cut out.
- Problems switching into neutral while accelerating, doesn't reliably work.
Whatever feeds the sharksAbsolutely totally agree, but for whatever the reason. EV incidents are big News. ?
what about this one ...another wind up ? 'I was kidnapped by my runaway electric car'
