Post your MG ZS EV battery SOH data please

I have just had my 4-year service on my MG ZS EV.

38,500 miles, charged on my 7kW home charger, with the occasional rapid on longer journeys, not very often.

The garage say the main battery capacity is now 90%. And that is lower than expected....:(

They suggest I use the Granny charger for several charges to balance the battery properly.

Does that indicate that the 7kW does not balance properly???

I've been monitoring the SoH on my ZS since 11,000km. The graph looks like this:

Note the interesting up-tick at about 46,000km. Any ideas on why this might be happening?

I don't notice that in your graph. But I think that up-ticks happen when the BMS stops guessing a fixed degradation per time, and completes an actual calculation. It may have to wait for the right conditions, e.g. the battery was recently discharged low enough.

Hmm, I think there's a caching problem with the MGEVS server - click on the graph to see the correct version. You may be right about the discharge - I recently got very low on charge.

Huh, that's weird. I tried editing the post, but no change.

A two data point up-tick is less expected than the occasional single point up-tick. Perhaps there was a single large correction upwards, and there is some sort of smoothing going on. Or maybe these two up-ticks are largely temperature related. Things have gotten a lot hotter fairly quickly down under, at least in my area (south east Queensland).

I just re-named the file and changed the link target and the graph now works.

I'm in Sydney, and the weather hasn't been that unusual. I don't think it's that.

I think it must be related to a reset as a result of draining the battery down to a low value. I recently got it below 10%, which is unusual for me.

Gonzo.

Dealer failed to report my SOH at first service so I asked them to do it today when the car was in for a diagnostic appointment which became a warranty repair!
Anyway, SOH reported as 100% on my Trophy LR, 18 months old, 5100 miles.
Only rapid charged twice, other wise 7kW charging mostly at home. Charged to 100% only when needed for the occasional long journey

Well after having zero trouble with a OBD-II reader on my Gen 1 ZS EV excite model I've now tried three OBD-II readers on my Gen 2 ZS EV Trophy SR with no luck, They have no problem connecting up to the OBD readers but will not show any data regarding an EV except for the 12V battery.
I imputed my brand & model of EV onto the latest OBD reader & it read the vin number correctly but doesn't show any EV parameters whatsoever.
I think I'll call it a day, as I'm not going to keep buying these things.

At this point, it looks like the problem is with the apps, not the dongles. The Gen 2 possibly uses totally different PIDs for the EV data, and it looks like the apps are assuming that the same PIDs work as for the Gen 1 models.

[ Edit: "must use" → "possibly uses". ]

Ah! Thanks for that, I'll turn my attention to other apps & have a read up on them.
