Hi Everyone,
Got the car on Monday and joined here today.

I am currently at 43%, so I will need to charge before my EV charger is installed on Monday or Tuesday.
I know I can plug it using the normal plug , would that be cheaper if I did it overnight versus just going to a public charging point?

Any hep or advise greatly appreciated ,

Thanks Pedro

What is your electricity tariff at home? Given that most public chargers are likely to be at least 60p/kWh, although it will be "faster" it's highly unlikely to be as cheap as charging at home.

If you have an overnight tariff usually under 10p/kWh then charge overnight.
If you are on a standard tariff it will be around 25p/kWh.
Check Zap-map for charge points in your area but most will be twice as much as your day rate.

Thanks for the welcome

Day Rate-26.39 p/kWh
Night Rate-12.30 p/kWh

I am thinking overnight is the way to go until I get my EV charger installed

Yes, certainly.

It might take a few nights to fully charge a Long Range from the granny charger. But 10 hours of charging should get you roughly 22 kWh of energy, or roughly 75 miles of driving, depending on many factors.

You should check the exact hours that your 12.3p / kWh rate applies, if you want to minimise the cost. Often the overnight rate is only for 5-6 hours, sometimes less. But you probably just want to bung in some juice at this point!

Might be worth like many others looking at Tomato Energy. I am moving in the next few weeks once my charger is installed, a big thread about a few MG owners hopping over. As would certainly be cheaper;
