Question about tethered chargers

This is an encouraging development and initially this looked very interesting to me personally but the chargers accepting Fastned are so few and far between that I can't see myself getting much use out of it.
That's a pity but it shows that autocharging can be done with many more vehicles than just Teslas, so I am sure others charge point operators will incorporate this functionality into their systems.

As I understand it, they are basically using the equivalent of the CCU's MAC address to identify the car. So potentially it is much less secure that the digital key exchange method and could in theory be spoofed.

Which is why I normally disable the feature unless I plan a visit to the charger. It’s a simple toggle in the app ??

I just discovered some (60 out of 130) chargers we have at work are bp pulse pro charger smart which support both Plug and Charge as well as bidirectional charging. ?

Don’t think they enabled the Plug and Charge yet - I shall ask them today. Would be cool if they did as it would save me having to remember which bp pulse card is it that I need ?

I haven't found one that locks the cable into the charger before registering either with card / code / app etc. It does seem it would be a good idea though. I also hate it that on most rapids, anyone can stop your charge, it happened to us on our inaugural MG5 trip, some kids playing in the service area went down the line of EVs stopping charges. I witnessed one driver that saw them do it to his car, he went to talk to the parents and was getting a right mouthful of abuse back, they were obviously anti EV peasants.
Oh for the good old pre P.C days, of a righteous clip round the ear. probably fear of which kept me from too much youthful antisocial behaviour.

My Zappi you can use it with or without the locking system, I personally use it without the locking system as it is installed in my garage
