Radar damaged and repair cost astronomical- anyone got tips

So our local wildlife the pheasant jumped in front of the car and knocked the radar, bursting the mount and sending it into warning state. Some time later it has returned to use albeit not facing the correct way.

Dealer wants £1000 to replace it. I think replacing a military radar would be cheaper.

Any ideas about doing it myself- is it easy or full bumper off. Apparently the connection on the radar is broken but it still works
 
See if a local computer shop could help, they are very good at fiddling with small electronics.
 
To be honest the rate the sensor goes on and off, you aren't missing too much with it broken especially if you don't use the cruise much.
 
No this is ridiculous, all that is needed is a bracket. I am having the same trouble!
 
I paid the insurance and the £250 excess and the body shop only replaced the bracket, have been conned
