It's a learning curve. You get to know the car and how much you really have in hand and how this will change under different conditions. You get more confident the more you know.
I haven't had much issue with stop/start traffic, possibly because even that is more economical than belting down the motorway at 75!
One thing to bear in mind is that it's a good idea every few months to run the car down to less than 10%, let it sit there for a couple of hours, then charge to 100% and balance in a single AC session. This calibrates the GOM.
