Rear passenger door not opening

Update and solved report to the thread.

I took the car in to the local MG dealer last week and he stated that the door would need a new door lock mechanism. They do hold door locks in stock but this one they didn't as the part number has changed apparently.

Back again yesterday after he received the part and within 45 minutes is was done.

I can now unlock and open the door from the inside. Thanks to the group for all your help.

Good result !.
Fault catch assembly then ( as suspected ).
Lucky MG had one in stock in the U.K.
it is likely to share the same part number as the ICE car, which has been in production longer, making availability much more likely.
Parts that are indicative to the EV model are less likely to available that quickly.
Ask me how I know ?.
