I’m hoping someone on this forum has come up with an elegant solution to the problem of there being no rear light in the EV ZS.
The car has a wonderful panoramic sunroof, which when open allows a view of sun/moon. However as a result there is no place to mount a light in the headlining. It does have rear USB and USB c outlets. I’ve temporarily used one of these to power an LED lamp. The problem with this, is the sockets are only active when the vehicle is powered and not when the rear door is opened or when the EV is first unlocked. It’s also untidy, as the kids get in the back they have to avoid a trailing cable which risks breaking the USB socket.
So the challenge is:
1) Location: where to mount a light or lights.
2) Electrical feed: how to take a feed from the courtesy lights circuit so it follows the logic of the front doors.
