Hi All,

Just joined the forum and enjoyed catching up on the link to the videos of the cyberster.
Does anyone know if the GT dual motor is still rear bias?

Looking at both models, tempted by the trophy single motor with it's rear wheel drive rather then 4 wheel drive.

Anyone driven them back to back yet?
Cheers

I have a Trophy. I am based near Bristol if anyone has the GT and wants to do a swap and compare.

I went for the Trophy as I have had Teslas in the past with insane/ludicrous capability, and after a while the novelty wore off and I never used it. So I thought I would prefer a little bit more range.

So far I have been really happy with my choice. All the performance I need and more for everyday use. Even in Comfort mode.

Also the rear wheel drive has given a few pleasant moments of a little shimmy as I have gone round a bend, or a bit of wheel spin pulling away from a standing start in the wet.

It all felt very safe, and reminded me of the classic MG’s of the past.

Hi, The GT driven in "comfort mode" is rear wheel drive only. Hence I assume its quite similar to the Trophy albeit with the front motor and related paraphernalia adding some weight and drag (which in my opinion seems hardly noticeable?). The GT in "sport mode" brings into play the front motor. The rear motor is more powerful than the front, but the feeling is one of weight balance (50/50) and not necessarily rear biased in spite of more power. Acceleration is of course very rapid and the pull out of corners amazing. Powering out of a corner in sport I don't feel like the rear can be teased into oversteer or kicked out. The GT "feel" in my estimation is a better composed car in the "sport mode" configuration but admittedly I've never driven the Trophy. Driving the GT sedately is not its "forte". (although it works great slow too) :) Pushing the GT a bit more in sport mode it behaves more competently and the ride smooths out. But,,,,the energy consumption is understandably much more. (A dual motor Tesla is different in that when driven modestly it will run primarily off the rear motor and the front folds in seamlessly as the accelerator is pressed and more power demanded). I also would love to hear from someone who can drive the GT in comfort mode alongside the Trophy in comfort mode to see if the weight difference/distribution as well as efficiency, can be felt and observed. ?‍♂️ The Trophy not sold in Thailand. 7000 km on my GT so far and I drive primarily in comfort mode and tap the right paddle to employ sport mode only on occasion when passing or driving on some of my local mountain roads. In strictly comfort mode the efficiency is really good at about 3.7 mi/kwh (6.0km/kwh) in mixed overall conditions.
