Hey guys.. is this normal?

Rear wiper mg4

I see a hole here and there's a visible bolt with little rust? And this thing open... Makes me think its going to rust very bad soon with rains.

Car is new and this hole can make me forsee it happening.

Is there a cap or something missing here or nothing to worry about?

That slot is there so the rear washer stream is directed on to the rear windscreen unimpeded. My MG4 is a year old with 15,000km on the clock and there are no signs of rust on the components. I suggest you take it back to the dealer & complain.

Does the MG4 with rear wiper use the front washer bottle for both front and back screens?

There is NO visual or audio low level warning when the windscreen washer bottle is empty on the ZS EV models.
I wanted to clear my windscreen a few days ago, on the move when it was -5 degrees outside.
The jets gave a solid blast, then a weaker sputter.
STOP using your washers at this point straight away, or if you keep pulling on that stork you will very quickly burn out the washer motor and it will not be covered by warranty either !.
The washer bottle tank is pretty large, it must hold close to 7 Litres as it supply's water for the rear washer jet as well.
Mine was completely empty of course, but I have to admit I have not topped it up in a while.

The front washer bottle tank supplies the rear wiper washer as well as the front. This is common on most cars. If the system is completely empty it will take a few seconds before the washer will spray the rear windscreen after it is refilled due to the longer distance the fluid has to travel. Once done it should work instantly.

How do you spray water in the rear?

I dont think i have that... But if i do, i wanna test. Where's the button to spray the rear window?

It is explained on page 62 of the Owners manual. The right hand lever on the steering column operates the front & rear wipers. Push the button on the end of the lever to operate the rear wiper. Push the lever towards the dashboard to operate the rear washer. There is a graphic on the top of the lever that shows this. Pulling the lever towards you operates the front washer.

If you get nothing then your reservoir is empty. Fill it up with some washer additive and if it still is not working go back to the dealer & get it fixed.

Rear Windscreen Wash and Wipe*

When the START/STOP switch is in the
ACC/ON/RUNNING position, the rear wipers and
washers can operate.

INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS
Intermittent Wipe

Press the intermittent wipe button and release, the wipers
will wipe three times at once, then intermittently wipe,
and press the intermittent wipe button again to turn off
the intermittent wiping. Toggling the automatic wipe speed
adjustment switch can adjust the time period between the
Intermittent wipes.
Wash/Wipe
By pulling the lever switch towards the instrument, the rear
window washers will operate immediately.
The wipers continue operating for a further three wipes
after the lever is released. After several seconds, there will
be a further wipe to remove any fluid draining down the
screen.
Note: When the tail gate is opened, rear wiper
operations will be disabled.
Note: After the windscreen wipers are switched on, if
the shift lever is in “R” position, the rear wiper will
operate.

Yea thank you. I realized this existed thanks to this. I pushed forward and discovered this worked.

Thanks man! I didn't know this had this. Now i d9 :)

Sorry for using an old thread but there's not much point starting a new one. I noticed today that my rear wiper isn't making contact with the window properly. The bottom half of the blade works fine but the top half doesn't touch. It's strange because it's only a recent issue but even with pressing the blade against the window, it doesn't make full contact when I let go. Very odd
