If I put the car in to reverse (without the front wipers being on) then the button for the rear wiper does not work at all (irrespective of the state of the front wiper), as soon as I switch back to drive the rear wiper button will work again.

I've not double checked this but I'm pretty sure if the front wipers are on before going in to reverse, it will do 1 auto wipe.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I just checked mine.
Wiper button operates rear wiper whilst in reverse with fronts off.
It will single wipe with fronts on and reverse selected.
It will also single wipe in reverse when selecting single sweep on the front wipers.

Done more testing,
Front on, select reverse, get single wipe on rear
In reverse pressing down on wiper stalk gets single wipe on both front and rear
Pressing rear button while in reverse does nothing but if it’s been pressed once when switching to drive rear wiper starts going, so it’s not ignoring the button press it is registering the state, it just don’t wipe in reverse

I just need to remember going forward double tap button for single rear wipe, going backwards press down
