Roof bars HELP!!!!

I’ve been around the houses on trying to find a roof bar product for my MG5. It has no profile rails or rails of any kind. It is a normal roof.

Halfords and Thule have washed their hands of it. And MG have been unhelpful too, just pointing me back to Halfords and Thule.

Can anyone help me? Anyone else experienced this and have a product recommendation?

In "I wouldn't start from here" news, I think I'd have chosen the Exclusive/Trophy version if I wanted to put stuff on the roof.

It might be worth looking on AliExpress, as there's the Chinese version of the car, so there may be more aftermarket products available.

This seems like a crazy omission in design. My neighbour has the inflatable "roof bars" on their non-MG car for the same reason, I believe.
