RRG MG Stockport - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

Had my mg4 updated there yesterday, great customer service, didn't have to aggressively plead my case for an update which seems rare compared to other dealership experiences, I even got a free mg umbrella as the heaven's had opened (can't guarantee you'll get the same lol). Highly recommended to go there for warranty/servicing. I dealt with Carl.

Great experience with RRG Stockport last week. Booked in on less than a week's notice to investigate an ELK fault. I took Ben the Master Tech out for a spin to see if I could get the car to replicate the issue (I couldn't) so they checked for and installed loads of software updates. Tim and Barbara on the service desk kept me well informed and fought with my lease company for me to get them to pay for it!

Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Poor experience with this branch, called them on beginning of the week with regards an offer they provided on Carwow, was advised of a callback advising if vehicle colour in stock and with regards to some questions I had asked, no response called back on end of the week only to be told the offer was going to expire at the end of the weekend, apologised for the lack of response then assured someone would call back with an update. no response by close of business so this had led to me arranging to buy from an alternative dealership.

We went there to look, not at an MG at the time, but a Mazda. Didn't find the reception welcoming, so bought from Mangoletsi instead.

They were very good. We ummed and ahhed about the MG4, so ended up visiting Mangos 4 or 5 times before making the decision to buy.

Having said all that, I was severely unimpressed when I went to Mango for the first service.

Some dealers seem to be good at sales but not after sales service. Others vice versa.

The sales team is another entity altogether and my personal experience was with the servicing and repairs teams. If you can get over the sales teams inadequacy you won't regret then dealing with the servicing team. They've gone above and beyond with issues I've had with my Mazda 3 and have so far done 2 warranty updates/repairs without any hassle on my mg4

MY GOD WHAT A NIGHTMARE! My family bought into a MG ZS thats been nothing but a problem. We've been stranded at the charging station every sodding time we leave town. The staff at Stockport are RUDE AND INCOMPETENT. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. Better to drive down to Bristol where the MG staff on the phone and in the garage know their job. My wife in tears and my baby crying on the side of the road was the only dependable results. RUN AWAY. We had to borrow a second vehicle (an old 2003 Landy Disco ) just so we could get to the market and hospital for babys appointments because Stockport was so unreliable at fixing MG problems. Eventually after getting stranded in Bristol, the MG mechanics figured it out, but we've been stuck with the bill for the rental to get us out of this mess thats totally MGs fault. In all my days of buying and driving, Ive never been so shocked and disappointed. I invite MG Stockport to make this right so i can remove this and the other reviews I will be writing and posting anywhere i can find an audience.

How bizarre, I was in in December on the mazda side and one of the team from the mg side recognised my car and knew I also had an mg4 and sought me out to say they've got the parts & authority for the sagging under tray issue and said they'd happily do it on my next service if I wanted it

Last time I went in with the sagging tray issue they fobbed me off with a "looks normal to us". They also said they would order me a new door handle to fix the button not working - never heard from them again.

Went to test drive a used 5 SR end of last Summer. Bit of waiting about but not bad. After they photo copied my ID I left it there and had to go back later to collect it when I noticed. Made a lower offer but by the time they got back to me I'd already bought an LR elsewhere.

Is there a thread for Warrington?

I've had driving licence shenanigans from dealers before...

Went to test drive a car at a very well known VW dealer and the sales guy took the DL and disappeared for ages. We were effectively hostages.

Ended up demanding it back after 25 minutes and stormed out. Made a complaint to head office. Told them it was hostile behaviour and there was no way we would ever buy a car from them and what kind of a way was that to treat a potential customer?
