Just arrived from Canberra. A carrier for the tow hitch so we can take the fridge on trips ?

Locked and loaded.

Finally got the Ark rack sorted ready for our first trip away in the MG.

Pour finishing and some missing and incorrect parts complicated what should have been an easy build. We added a clamp device to minimise the rattling. I ran the fridge freezer 12v cable under the rear seats and onto the lighter socket. We’d preloaded the freezer with chilled goods the night before, strapped it down and after a quick light check we headed out.
Battery fully Charged and balanced for the 1.5 hour run to Peachester. A mixture of highway and steep hinterland roads.
I don’t have much to compare it with but I barely noticed it was on the back.
I count that as a win ?

Saturday Avo project (thought it was about avocado)
That was a spelling mistake that snuck past the moderators (although I’m not totally to blame) which has now been corrected.

ARVO Aussie slang for “Afternoon”

‘Aussie slang’ not the same as cocky rhyming slang, not even close!

That's a significant sized fridge/freezer, do you have a second battery to keep it going?
Ahhh No!
I had this ‘rig’ set up and ready to go, and just the very next week a member of this forum, with significantly greater knowledge than mine. Posted about the ‘Proper way to do it’. Which has thrown me a bit. I did purchase a heavy weight cable to run the to the cig lighter and It's not heating up under the load. We mostly take it on short breaks away and as soon as we get to where we're going we unstrap it and plug it in. I unplug it when we make stops so as not to run down the 12V battery. And with the insulated cover, the temps hardly budge for the first hour. And then off we go. The next trip we're stopping overnight 1/2 way to the destination, so it'll take the place of the motel room fridge and rattle away all night :)
Fingers crossed!
75 lts, All fridge or all freezer or 1/3 2/3 combo.

This has been my project, and so far it has performed fantastically. It runs 24/7.
