MG ZS LR 2023. Screeching noise whilst cornering!

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, and thanks if you can re-direct me to that thread.

I'm getting a screeching noise from the rear end when I'm going round a right angled bend or corner even from a speed of about 30 mph.

It's OK going round gentle curves or roundabouts etc. but when it's similar to a right angled bend, it's like two bottles being rubbed together or the blackboard/chalk noise (apologies to younger forum members!)

Any thoughts, please?

Hi Dave - A common cause, is that a small stone has got trapped behind the steel brake backing plate and the brake disc.
This will cause the black board / chalk / fingers nails dragging noise you can hear.
Another member had a similar issue and this can happen on other cars, it’s not just an MG thing.
Just a case of removing both of the rear wheels and inspecting between the back plate and the disc.
Close to the brake calliper is the usual area a stone can get trapped.
In this case, it was the front brakes that were the culprit, but it’s the same principle shown, but at the rear of the car in your case maybe.
