Hello, all,

And apologies if this has been covered and I haven't seen it, but I seem, on occasions, to be getting a coming from my rear end of the car (MG ZS EV LR 2023) whilst cornering.

At first I thought it might just be a bit of tyre squeal due to road conditions but today we heard it about 3 times when cornering at quite low speeds.

It seems to be when taking quite a sharp bend and we hear a squealing or grating type noise.

Any thoughts?

My money is on a stone being trapped behind the brake backing plate and the brake disc.
When the car is cornering, the extra load shifts onto the hub and forces the stone to scrap / drag onto the metal brake disc / rotor.
Common issue, not just on MG cars.
Somebody else on the forum has had the very same issue.
Do a quick search and you should find it.
There is pictures attached showing the problem I think you may have ?.

A stone usually makes a noise all the time. If its only when cornering, I would expect it only when turning one way, eg left corner or right corner. They can be difficult to remove....

@Lovemyev Thanks for this, but my technical knowledge peaks at parking the car in the Dealership's Customer parking bay!! :ROFLMAO:
