Shiny! (Clean car)

After Supagard paint protection I spent yesterday applying Supagard High Gloss Sheen. Amazing results! Instructions state: 24 hours to cure. Pics are when I finished it.

@KMC, wow, that looks amazing, which supagard products do you use for the paint and the plastic trim, I've never used it before, thanks
Thanks. Luckily on the x power the plastics are painted gloss black, so they all have supagard paint seal on & now high gloss sheen on top. Including window surrounds ect. I dont leave it on as long to cure as the paint, once the plastic section is covered (say rear plastic windows or door glass frame) I buff off with soft microfibre straight away.

That really does look nice buddy especially as it’s hard sometimes to appreciate a wax/sheen coat on a white car ?

& I haven’t forgot about your recommendation for Supaguard, I’ll definitely be looking into ordering some.

At the moment I use Autoglym Ultra High Definition Wax for the bodywork ( metal parts )

Turtle Wax ceramic spray for the plastics, bumpers, plastics at bottom of car, front rear & sides

Turtle Wax Inside Job for dashboard, screens, doors

& Rain X 100% Rain Repellent for glass

My wife gives me that look often when I pop into Halfords just to pick up a tub of screen wash & come out with new micro fibre towels, buckets ( you can never have enough buckets ) cleaners etc ?

Feeling like ive been “run over” today, but glad its done. Just waiting for my Wife to ask about hers now ?.As for Microfibre towels you’ve never got enough! I still look @ maquires drying towels though & think “How much” ? . Our wives much prefer Halfords to a pub lads ?

I treated myself to a new Autoglym drying towel last night when in Halfords. I didn’t need to but it’s the first time I’ve seen this particular one on the shelf & the urge was too strong just to walk by & ignore it ?

I’m actually going to clean my daughter’s car today. It’s a 23 plate but it looks like it’s been taken dirt racing. She sometimes takes it to a group of guys that have a car hand wash, to be fair they do a good job but why pay them £20-30 when you know your dad will do it for free ?

But it’s getting the full treatment, solar blast, snow foam etc but I will NOT use my new Autoglym towel on it, that will be saved for when my car gets its weekly wash ?

Won't go far wrong with Autoglym stuff. ??

I'm going to try the polar snow blast and the shampoo at the weekend.
With the pre wash polar blast, is there any need to avoid tyre walls as with similar products, or is it a case of splash it all over, wait and rinse??

Just like Brut (remember that?) just splash it all over. ??

For wax, shampoos, snow foams/polar blast I stick to Autoglym products

Funny though, I personally prefer Turtle Wax Ceramic sprays for the plastics ( outside ) & the Turtle Wax “Inside Job” is good for interiors, doors, dashboards, screens ( it does say spray directly onto surfaces but when using a spray inside the car I prefer to spray it directly onto the cloth )

The only other wax I sometimes use is Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax. On its own it probably won’t last more than 4-6 weeks tops but it’s a great top up wax. Say you use a wax that lasts upto 6 months, sometimes I use the Butter Wet Wax after about 2-3 months as a quick top up & it’s definitely one of the easiest waxes I’ve used to apply & buff off & has ( I think ) a better shine than most other products

( around £20 depending where you shop )

Henry Cooper started it - and Barry Sheene was added to make the dual act.....
Trying to remember if they got involved with Blue Stratos as well, but maybe it was just the Brut33......

£20-£30 for a hand car wash? Round here it's about £6-£7. Even the really expensive one I sometimes use where they dry the car for you as well is only £12. Is she having the inside done at the same time?

If I remember correctly

This one starts at £12, for that you get a wash, dry & hoover

£15 all above + you also get a dashboard, door, glass polish

Then it goes up depending on what else you choose

You can just have you car mats shampooed or the whole interior, seats, carpet

Outside, polish &/or wax

Tyre treatment

The max you can pay is £65, that includes everything above + steam clean, underneath, engine

They also have a mobile service, that adds £5-£10 depending on how far they travel to you

To be honest they do a good job whatever you choose but personally I’d rather do my own car.

Well I’ve done her car for her today ( didn’t need carpet shampoo ) & it looks good. Trouble is it’s a black car & it won’t be long before it shows every bit of dust, dirt again.
