Not happy that when you select EV mode it keeps dropping back to Auto. Yes I understand parameters must be met in EV mode, but why doesn't it revert to EV automatically?
So thinking of a work around, does anyone know what code in the EMS sets the 50% SOC level in auto mode? Thinking this could be lowered so more battery power is used before car charges from ICE. We buy our power for charging at home for $0.08/kWh AUD so most cost effective way to charge is at home.

It wont stay in EV mode if the heater water temp is low. The water temp has to be high enought to heat the car internally and keep the battery at the right temp. The internal workings of the car are still run off the 12 volt battery just like a normal car - It doesnt have a heat pump so it uses he 12 volt battery to power the heater. I have my heater temp set to 19deg which keeps it in EV mode once it gets past the first minutes of startup. There has been a lot of discussion on here about it if you do a search for it EV mode keeps dropping out on MG HS PHEV

I know all that Cafeg. The issue is they don't automatcally go back int EV mode. Why should we have to run a lower temperature just to keep it in EV. This is a major fault that they don't tell you about when purchasing.

My phev stays in EV mode on startup during the summer when the weather is hot. If it had a heat pump for a heater it wouldnt have this problem I dont think. It really does seem strange that the heater stops it staying in EV mode but apparently a quite few phevs are like this ..
