Hi everyone Newbie to the forum asking for help.Just picked up my nice new HS on Saturday and plugged in with granny cable to outside house socket for my first charge. After a couple of hours went out to check the progress and it had stopped charging ? Gone from 8% to 32% Disconnected the cable and reconnected again to restart charging. Checked again after half an hour and it had stopped charging again 32% to 35% plus the charge time had increased up to 7hrs.
Has anyone had this problem before any help would be much appreciated before a dealer contact.

Apologies if this thread has been discussed before.

hipster. Sorry your having problems with your new motor. Sure someone will be along soon to help. Hopefully something simple. 🙂👍

What granny charger are you using and is it showing any errors (can’t remember what the mg one has) but my master plug one has lights on to indicate what’s going on.

Thank you just looked at the charger it is an MG charger will re-try again tomorrow and check for lights 👍
No worries, before you panic try again. Then at somebody else’s house with your granny charger and if possible someone else’s granny charger too.

They are quite sensitive to voltage deviations, earthing issues etc (made that way purposely as you can be pulling a lot of power, outside for quite some time).

Hi
Are you checking your charging using the app? I think you went out and opened the car doing this it may interrupt the charge for a minute or two then should restart.
Have you got a smart phone that you can download the ISmart to it then you can monitor the status of charge from your front room.

Thank you for your response I have been trying to get the ismart to bind but it keeps failing at the scan QR code part as the scan stops half way down the QR code so doesn't complete the scan 😤 ...lm thinking . Phone problem or app problem ?

Update on the granny cable charge.Just went into the infotainment and changed the timings for charging and this seems to have resolved the problem. 🤞will pop into the local MG dealer next time I'm passing to see if they can bind my phone to the car.

Yes changed the hours of charging re- scheduled and that worked 👍 had not noticed it had been set previously and it took me a couple of days to check the schedule on the management icon..... Thanks 🙂
