Rolfe, is your EAB on alert mode maybe?
I mostly just get the bleep too. It's recently had lots of software updates. I'm sure it will be ok 99% of the one but personally after that I prefer to turn it off, that way I can chill. I must say though that I do still use auto steer (tja) for most of my journeys so. I'm sure that re enables some of the features.Maybe something needs calibrating? When I do that all I get is a message on the driver's screen and a beep.
Renault have implemented a single button to select your preferred configuration of these systems on their new cars. That's what we need on MGs.Had my first one today, at first I thought the car braked because another car in the lane next to me got too close to the line, but when I checked my dashcam later I think it was a pedestrian stepping out towards the road from a bus stop. I'll admit I was swearing for a bit, but after seeing the footage I understand why the car did it.
For the people who want to permanently disable these functions (AEB, ELK etc) why didn't you just buy a car with a 2 star NCAP rating? Because I would imagine we all want as high a safety rating as possible, but these cars get the high ratings because they have these systems.
There is wanting a car with as high an NCAP rating as you can and wanting a car where all the safety systems work as the should, over two years since launch and MG still hasn't sorted out all cars with safe versions of each systemHad my first one today, at first I thought the car braked because another car in the lane next to me got too close to the line, but when I checked my dashcam later I think it was a pedestrian stepping out towards the road from a bus stop. Even before this recent update they still provided a physical button for LKA on/off when they launched the current EVsRenault have implemented a single button to select your preferred configuration of these systems on their new cars. That's what we need on MGs.
Yeah a good few after a certain time from yesterday are missingNot that I know about.
Yes. 5 of mine have disappearedSome posts got lost during maintenance?
If they would release a version of the MG4 with a lower NCAP rating that would be excellent. I’d happily swap. Had no idea when I bought it that I would find LKA so annoyingHad my first one today, at first I thought the car braked because another car in the lane next to me got too close to the line, but when I checked my dashcam later I think it was a pedestrian stepping out towards the road from a bus stop. Or just release a version with the current NCAP rating with systems that actually work.If they would release a version of the MG4 with a lower NCAP rating that would be excellent. I’d happily swap. Had no idea when I bought it that I would find LKA so annoying
It shouldn't really matter what you pay, if a car is supplied with specified features they should all work as advertised.I don’t disagree that a system should work as advertised or intended. And I don’t disagree that the EAB could cause a dangerous situation when the driver behind is too close or slow to react. In my personal experience though, I didn’t even notice the pedestrian stepping out from the bus stop, and although they didn’t step out into the road, I can’t fault the car for thinking they were about to. And if they had, the car braking as it did could have been the difference between life and death for that person. I don’t think that is inherently flawed to be honest. I also don’t think it is a bad outcome to safe a pedestrian by having the car behind me crash into the back of me. My chances of survival are higher than theirs after all.
I agree the system can, and should, be better, but I also think it’s unrealistic to expect a perfect system, especially considering how much we’ve paid for these cars. As much as I love my MG4, I’m under no illusion it is as good quality as say a Porsche Taycan.

Please post on the Feedback Forum highlighting any missing posts, Stuart won't see these comments otherwise and needs some specifics to investigate (this is what he said when I mentioned the issue).Yes, I see that now. I don't know if there's any way to restore them. Stuart might know.
