Hi all hope everyone has had a good Christmas was wanting some advice my mother has just bought a brand new Mg Zs ev trophy in october from sunderland Richard hardie branch and has had a number of tecnical issues the milage range is 145 on a full charge she isn't a fast driver the car has be recalibrated as that's what they said was wrong also pone connection issues also app is now playing saying the car location is Belgium and unable to bond its takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to fast charge when at a services costing around £50 for a milage range of 145 is this normal as the young after sales manager seems to think 115 is to 145 range on full charge is normal and dramatically reduces if you use heater as the steams up every 10 minutes hope someone can help regards Mike

First off, is it a long range or standard range?
Taking fresh air from outside rather than recirculating air can prevent steaming up inside. Fan speed 2 is fine for this.
When you say ‘fast’ charge, are you meaning ‘rapid’? Fast charging is only up to 7kW. There is a limit to what the MG ZS can accommodate, so not necessarily able to take the maximum shown on the EVSE.
Range varies according to weather, use of heater, driving style etc., so never an exact science. The trip meters can be reset to show the range advertised, but again, that doesn’t mean it’s achievable in the real world. Check the miles/kWh shown on one of the drivers screens. 2.5 - 4 is common in the winter.
Lots of advice on this if you search the forum.
Lastly, the app can be problematic, especially since the new version released recently. Again, a search on here may help.

Thanks for the fast response. It's the standard range yes is on the fresh air option and on 1/2 speed as it rapidly drains the battery as my mother found out on her way to Isle of White from county Durham and after a number of calls from her panicking about the battery/ mileage dropping fast in eco mode As you can imagine its a long distance to travel with windows steaming up every 10 minutes she is 6. I found out after some research the constant steaming up is common also had an issue with the the heaters not blowing hot air just warm/cool put the issue to the after sales team and was told it doesn't have heater matrix but did my research before bringing the issue up and found in eco mode stops the heater blowing hot only warm said to garage heater only blows warm air but they didn't have a clue then was given a talk by a very young chap the after sales manager how a combustion engine works I've only been driving for 22 years but didn't have a clue about heater not working on eco the car has only done 1800 mile when she got the car in October she was getting 198 on a full charge then after 2 weeks was getting around 115 to 145 sales lad said wasn't sure what the milage range should be be but sounded right they recalibrated the car moving back us to around 180 said after every charge needs collaborating they said today MG will not pay for unnecessary work and unable to help as car is functioning correctly it was booked in this morning regarding and the app issue bonding and its current location been Belgium but told her they couldn't help as there was no issue with the car.

The winter weather will impact range. Have a look at how many miles per kw she is getting. 5 to 6 miles per kWh in the summer but as low as 2 to 3 miles per kWh in the winter. This is a better indicator than the range estimate. Make sure you are trying to bind car to an email address rather than a phone number. Email works, I could never get mine to bind to mobile number. The app is a bit hit and miss. It works most of the time but not all. If windscreen mists don't put on eco (as suggested) and either direct air to windscreen (using on screen touch screen) or press the windscreen button next to the Aircon button below the screen when required.
