Surprisingly short battery balancing period

Could anyone tell me if 11kW charging is classed as slow or fast?

My understanding is that in the UK, 7 kW and above is considered "fast", 3-pin plug is considered "slow" or "granny".

The manual page above is confusing. It's perfectly OK to charge at 11 kW to achieve balancing. The point is, ALL AC CHARGING can be throttled back to a trickle, since it's the On Board Charger that is doing this throttling. The problem with rapid (DC) chargers is that the charge current is set by an external charger, at a current requested by the vehicle's BMS. It's not clear whether all external chargers are capable of charging very slowly, and in any case it's really poor utilisation of an expensive piece of infrastructure (the rapid charger) to balance the battery.

@djngolf and @Martinonline I have a device that measures the ac current going into the charger (a Shelly EM). That's where the graph above comes from. You can see there are power spikes after the main charge has finished - while the balancing takes place.
I think it's been mentioned here that the car and the app continue to say that the car is still charging even after it has reached 100% and that only changes when the balancing has finished. Maybe one of the experts could confirm this.
Thanks for the update, I had a look at the Shelly EM on YouTube and now understand where you got your information from.
