I think slmorgan42 hit the nail on the head:My dealer said if they search the VIN they only see ones marked as critical but if they connect the car they see all available updates. I am assuming this is correct. They are speaking to MG about which update is needed for the Tesla issue;
The majority of dealers check the VIN of the car and it shows as ‘no updates available’
Only a few techs will plug in the MG diagnostic tool and check for available updates of each ECU.
Even less will then take the chance and actually go ahead with the updates for fear of messing up a perfectly fine car.
MG UK doesn’t seem to have any guidelines on what needs to be done when a customer is looking for a Supercharger update…
