0 EV mileage? Really? I suspect existing owners may disagree with that.

The longest on electric power only we have done is just over 6 miles, which was done at speeds up to 40mph. I would estimate our local runs are about 50% electric power only. The nominal 0 electric mileage is due to the switchable engine modes and no ability to force the car to do electric only. The mpg has settled at 58.9, which is just over 25km/L.In my country they gonna have a hard time getting customers for this cars.
Many people love pure EV cars here, but nearly 22000gbp for a MG3 hybrid with 0 ev mileage, won't find any customers here.
Ah the 1100. Complete with the gear change remote casing that was secured by a metal/rubber/metal collar which would eventually fracture, the gearshift lever that could come out in your hand (managed to screw that back in at the lights in just a few seconds). Oh, and the little rubber pipe between block and head that almost invariably got missed out when you rebuilt the engine, plus the penchant for wearing oil control rings, giving the 1100 a habit of smoking furiously. Also, the more fancy new features a car has, the more there is to go wrong, bring back the Austin 1100 ?
I'm a software engineer (50 years this year since I began!) and I deal with issues reported by users on a daily basis. It does gall me when you try and report something to a dealership and their instinct is to deny what you're reporting! Or to fob it off, but in any case not to escalate to the manufacturer. There should be a readiness to accept issues - and resolve in a new release of software - that's how you improve things! And don't get me started on how the Horizon system was (totally mis)managed.....The worst example being when sub-postmasters began to complain about and report faults with Fujitsu's Horizon system. Trying to get software engineers to accept faults can be very difficult!
My Kia Sportage never had phantom braking or dangerous LKA and neither does my Cupra Born so it is not common to all cars, just ones with poorly written software like MGDoes indeed sound very unlucky. Perhaps as a counter, the fact that there are now quite a few owners on this forum, and I believe apart from one other contributor that had a major failure, for which he explained MG straight away agreed to a replacement, should give some security that such total break downs are not the normal.
The Hybrid system is nothing particularly new, with all manufacturers offering some form of Hybrid across their ranges, so it's not a new untried technology.
If you liked the car, before cancelling I would certainly ask to test drive another, or even the same car if they claim to have fixed it.
Having had my car for a couple of months, the only major issue, which is something regrettably I think is common to all cars to some extent with ACC and LKA (semi autonomous driving), is 'phantom braking' where the car gets confused by a parked car and applies the brakes.
This I have found does occasionally happen.
It is a petrol car, albeit with a hybrid set-up. Technology which has been around for 20 years now!!!!!Thats a brand new one. Good job they have a 7 year warranty unless it is the type of Arthur Daley warranty where everything is covered except the part that goes wrong.
I would stick with good old fashioned petrol cars until the so called teething problems have been sorted down the line.
Aye but imagine an ev1100 ?. Or better still a Wolesley 1800 / 2200 land crab ev ???Also, the more fancy new features a car has, the more there is to go wrong, bring back the Austin 1100 ?
