I rushed home from coffee with friends this morning, left the car running as the friend with whom I was going to Milton Keynes had already pulled up on my driveway. I told her to hop in, whilst I quickly went indoors, dropped off the small handbag (with the key inside) that I had used in the morning, and grabbed the bigger bag I had prepared for the shopping trip.
I drove us to the park&ride, switched off the car, but it wouldn’t lock with the door button. I checked all doors were closed, but it still wouldn’t lock. Then it dawned on me - no key. 30 seconds of quiet panicking, before remembering ’the digital key’, which I had never tried before. Of course, I would never forget the key, would I? I wouldn’t be able to start the car without it.……..
Sometimes, new technology can be a hindrance, but today, it saved a heck of a palaver.
