They prefer their horse and cart! (EV rejection)

I never ever try to persuade them. Keep it all to yourselves and enjoy. Then you can have the enjoyment of making them squirm when they eventually get one.

What do I do? Nowadays I simply laugh, shake my head and say "If only you knew!". Then if - and only if - they start asking sensible questions, I give my answers.

My days of trying to convince other people to adopt EVs are over, they'll be along soon enough.
Aye tell them whatever they do not to test drive one or they’ll be ensnared forEVer.

Just reading on a forum in the car section, "EV's are too fast":ROFLMAO:
I personally wouldn't get one of the really high acceleration ones in case in I went too quick and smashed into a fence or such like. But that's just me being mindful of my own drving abilities at high speed ie I'm not good at it. No point pretending otherwise. 8 seconds'sh 0 to 60 mph is more than enough for me.

The paradigm for the car industry for years was we can sell you a car at a higher price the more power it has (bigger engine = better) and the faster it gets from 0-60. We were NEVER sold an ICE car primarily on the speed it could be refuelled or the MPG. If this were the case Citroen and Mercedes would probably be the "premium" brands with their diesel engines and Lambo, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lotus, McLaren etc would probably not even exist.

Electric cars have turned things on their head as providing outrageous power and very low 0-60 time are relatively cheap and easy to obtain. However, the opposite is true of time to refuel and MPG or MP kWh.

If all electric cars are milk floats (based on power train) then all ICE cars are, ironically, fire starters based on the fact they have to ignite fuel to propel them
