Token Expired every. single. day…

On Android you can let the phone remember login details, and it'll do so even if you completely uninstall an app. I presume iOS offers similar functionality.

In other words - as per @the briggie above - it wasn't the app remembering the details, it was the phone. :)

On an iPhone, you can also use your fingerprint or Face ID (depending on what your phone offers), to save remembering a password. It’s on the last screen under ‘security settings’.
 
Try it on another device, android or IOS. You could be timing out of sessions for some reason on your iPhone hence the token expiry..all theory ? i assume it happens on both wifi and cellular? You could try switching off one at a time. This is weird as it is not a common MG app issue as far as I know so stumbling around in the dark unfortunately

I was going to suggest changing the password just in case there was something you're unaware of logging in. But it looks like you should get a notification on the app were that to be happening.

With any unexplained behaviour on Android it is always worth temporarily disabling power saving, first just for the app, and if necessary for the whole phone. It's only a small chance it is this, but no harm in trying.
 
It is IOS...iPhone. Can you do that on IOS?
 
The “token expired” notice was a regular feature in the early days of the App.
It did take a while to sort it out, but it has not been a thing for a while now.
Until about 4 days ago that is !.
I tried to open the Ismart App on my IPhone 13 and it brought up the request for my login details.
This is not unusual of course, but it tends to indicate that the software has been changed in some way or another.
When I entered my details, up popped the “token expired” message !.
I have not seen this for a LONG time.
Entered my password a few times, but it was having none of it.
Decided to leave it and just move on with life.
The following day, I turned off the phone completely and try again.
Opened the App and was presented with the login screen again.
Just for the record, my account has only ever been set to my mobile number and NOT to my e.mail address.
I populated the password field and it opened straight away this time, with no token expired message.
I never deleted the App only powered down the phone and entered my known good password.
I have face recognition turned ON which saves punching in your passcode every time you request a command.
Had a bit of a poke around, to try and find out what changes ( if any ) had been made, that had requested a fresh login request.
It did not take long to find it !.
When running the health report for the car, it now only checks 10 things, instead of the 11 items it had done previously.
The sky roof status ( open or closed ) has been removed from the check list menu.
Why ?????.
The version number has not changed but the fiddle fairies have definitely been at it again ?.
Can’t fix - then remove it, appears to be the order of the day here.
 
Thanks again everyone. I’ll have a fiddle, but I’m at the point now of assuming someone has done something server side which is causing this on my account. Could be anything, but I’ll persevere for a while longer

Just now, I had "token expired" and when logged in, no sunroof status any more and app version is teh same as it was, v2.0.3
emailed them to ask how to get it back - not expecting anything but "you don't ask - you don't get" ...
p.s. could you remotely open or close the sunroof or it was just to show status?

The MG4 doesn't have a sunroof but as your profile shows you have a ZSEV so you might be better asking on the ZS forum.

Yep - I picked up on this last week.
When you are requested to sign back into your account, for no apparent reason on your part, you can bet the fiddle fairies have been at it in the back ground ?.
It would be nice to see the sky roof status stored in the App, but somehow I think it will be on a single, rather than on a return TBH.
It was handy feature, as on a few occasions, I have unintentionally left the sky roof it open on a hot day.
A quick health check and I could confirm it’s status.
Regarding your question on “remote opening”.
I guess you refer to voice command opening and closing feature ?.
We have a long range Trophy ? model ( UK ) which did not come with voice command back in 2022.
If you wanted this additional feature, you had to order the Trophy ? connect model which was an additional £500 cost over the price of the standard Trophy long range model.
Glad I did, because there was long delays on satisfying these orders due to the chip shortages at the time.
IF you receive a reply from MG CS will you please update us please.
