MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy
Had my trophy, (Dynamic Red), three weeks now and the only problems I've had are basically down to 'Dumb User Error'! But, hey, I'm getting there. MPG hovers around 68.7 - 74.3, which says it all. I've had Volvo, Hyundai, Ford, Vauxhall, Chrysler, Peugeot and, going back a few years, a Standard 10 van. Some good, some excellent, some no thanks. The MG3 Hybrid is one of the better ones.

Loving this car MG3 Hybrid! 67.5mpg on my last trip. It is responsive and fun to drive. The iPhone connects automatically with the Cuarko unit and I am mastering the many features within! I have done 86 miles, the fuel hasn’t moved at all and the mileage in the tank/battery seems to have gone up, so I haven’t a clue what I am running on! I think the car is still learning?

Hi Tony. Just read your comments and noticed the Cuarko reference. I've done the read up on amazon and agree it looks and probably is a great product, but what does it actually do. I have my music on a USB stick, I use the phone by manually pressing buttons and I'm happy with the in-built sat nav. Will it benefit me in any other way. Cheers mate.

Hi Aitch
The Cuarko allows you to access the Apps on your phone. You can use Siri, use navigation apps that have a live back up with road delays and closures (possible rerouting). You can also play the music you might have on your phone. It is a one stop set up. I start the car, the phone connects automatically with no need to pair or fiddle about, and the phone can stay in my pocket. Best of all, no need to plug in a physical lead to your phone (which would achieve the same effect) - I dislike long trailing leads! Hope this helps.

Morning Tony. Being an old fart on the wrong side of 83 I'm not really into phone apps etc. I use my phone, (a sensibly priced Motorola), for texts and phone calls mainly, so it wouldn't be money well spent in my case. I do miss the voice control though, so the subject is still 'open'.

Nice to see a favourable post about our MG3 Hybrid, too often we only report the bad things.

How do you get such good numbers, how have you set it up, the best we've seen barring silly dash errors is 58 ish

Plenty of cheap phones on ebay and in town centre fone shops.

I bought a used Samsung Galaxy S10+ last year and it's been really good, cracking camera too.

We do most of our motoring within a 20 mile radius of home and, over the years, I've learnt to use a very light right foot, keep off the brake as much as poss and anticipate the road conditions. Apart from that no known difference with other drivers.

Good mpg? Set it on highest economy level, don’t use the brake but use the slowing KERS effect to slow the car. Be gentle with the accelerator. I haven’t stopped using the aircon but that would save a shed load of battery power. I think these figures can be improved upon!

I get in, set it to Eco, regen to 2, and set off, first mile is all steep down hill, yet it often goes to HEV which seems WRONG.

You say "Set it on highest economy level" Tony, I assume the above is just that, can you confirm or am I missing a trick, the dealers were useless and knew zero, not inspired with confidence, but I have another closer for next time I need help.

There are three levels, the default is level 2, level 1 is sport, the high level 3 has to be set at the start of each trip and has the highest KERS. It is annoying to have to reset this each time!

I agree if they are selling it on the economy it should start off in Eco not normal, I leave Regen on 2 unless we're going down a steep hill then it's 3, the boss never changes any of the settings.

The dealers should be able to sort all the software issues if they are allowed is a different matter.

I think we should be allowed to have the car how we like it, not the other way around.
