NO, when you mount tow bars the installer must be mount specific kit to supply the power for external element (tow bars or trailer)Can anyone especially those that have had a tow bar fitted is there an electrical outlet socket built into the MG harness to supply power to an electrical trailer socket.
Does that include the fog light? Normally a tow bar obscures a central fog light but I am not sure if they are required for trailers / bike carriers. You can fit the two at yourself just bolt it on
The lights are a problem if it’s a large trailer but the law is if it’s a small trailer that you can see the car lights then you don’t need a trailerboard
There are Bluetooth wireless trailer boards if it’s needed

Another small piece of advice would be helpful. Where exactly are the fixings to remove the rear plastic bumper panel. I can go in blindly and just take every screw or bolt out or preferably go in with a little knowledge and save myself so time and trouble.

Witter offer a tow bar. The wiring loom is not yet available! The MG has LED lights which draw very little current. Most trailers have incandescent bulbs which draw more current, so an adaptor is required to provide 2 Amps at 12v for brake lights and a little less for side and indicator bulbs. I am told by local towing specialist that looms will become available when there is sufficient demand. MG will probably have one available but I haven't enquired.I note that MG says that the MG4 can tow up to 500kg, so I assume that there is a connector to the wiring loom for the trailer electrics. Does anyone know what towbars are available?
I think the replacement fog light would need to be a compatible LED light. Its a fair point made here not ideal but doable for certain.

any pics?Got my new MG4 Luxury delivered wednesday 31.05.23 with a Witter towbar and a Witter car spesific wiring lom (canbus). It looks exactly like the one in post 112. The wiring lom (MG4/5 spesific) uses a exsisting hole in the left rear wheel arch (at least in the lhd) where the lom displaces the gromit/seal in the hole, at roughly the same place the canbus plug is located.
Power is tapped from the fusebox up front with a power trough fuse (same style as many use for their dashcams). Have not tested ut yet but it looks neat.
Oh, this is in Norway.
cheers for thatNo pics from the instalation (I was not there), but have some from the installation manual. Be warned that there are no waranty if not installed professionally and these pics does omit most of the important instructions.
My thoughts when taking these pics was to show the gist of it and a possible power take out on the lhd Luxury for lets say dash cams and such, not to publish the copyrighted manual. Rhd cars I guess have a different ruting of the cables and placement of the canbus and rubber gromit.
