Me and my better half have just had a few days away at Bodelwyddan Castle near Rhyl. It was a Warner Leisure break with entertainment and half board, Brilliant location, lovely venue, superb food, great entertainment (tribute act every night).
Whilst there we took a trip out every day, we went on a river cruise on a narrowboat from Llangollen Wharf to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct whilst having afternoon tea, we also went on the Coronation Street experience in media city Manchester. All in all 622 miles over the long weekend.
We attempted a charge at the Trafford Centre on the way there to check the Tesla chargers and our MG5, they didnt work with our car so a trip to the dealer is needed. We continued our journey having plenty of range and a couple of miles beyond our destination was a Starbucks and a Greggs just off the North Wales expressway Kinmel Park West, 2 x 50 kW EVPoint rapids and we charged there daily at 55p kWh. We never had to queue and there was no messing about, plug in, swipe your card charging started, perfect.
We managed an amazing 4.9 miles / kWh average over the whole weekend, the cost of the electricity used including the charge from home was £52.31 (8.4p per mile or the equivalent of a diesel car doing 86.5 mpg).
MG5 was a very capable car, not bad from a comfort point of view (Im 6'6" so it is slightly cramped space wise but not too bad), the tech worked fine apart from Tesla Charging, Climate Control perfect. In our case the infrastructure was fine, no range anxiety etc.
