To be honest, i dont think the problem is with the RAR file.@hmadsen
Can you get a checksum of your downloaded file, it would give us something to compare to?
My downloaded 22Q1 maps.rar md5 checksum is 7AD772E70A42B4CBCC0D5EAAF1A68B07
That'll Be the Android in it ??So there's something the car doesn't like about Apple computers.
Not like Apple is not trying to be very special and incompatible themselvesThat'll Be the Android in it ??
I concluded exactly the same - sadly, we don't have a Windows PCWell, after no success with preparing a USB stick with maps on my Mac I used the same USB stick and formatted it on a Windows PC. With the same downloaded map file extracted onto it, this time it worked fine.

That is the correct MD5 Hash.@hmadsen

Patience paid off. Finally downloaded the latest map update??Patience patience, it will get there.
The ‘ota updates’ is a con on MG’s part. It only does the media unit. For anything else, it still needs the dealer. There is no mention of ota updates on the mg uk site now.I would expect OTA firmware to be a lot smaller.
I regularily receive updates for my android phone (The infotainment runs android) and these are just "incremental updates" that are a lot smaller than full updates. Incremental updates only replaces files that has been updated. If you do an incremental update, a few hundred MB's would get you a long way.
No matter what, they promised OTA update functionality, so i expect them to do OTA updates.![]()
The worst part is that they haven't even given any OTA updates for the infotainment until now.The ‘ota updates’ is a con on MG’s part. It only does the media unit. For anything else, it still needs the dealer. There is no mention of ota updates on the mg uk site now.
It might be a chip shortage thing, just as the models now no longer have a Sun roof.
The French site has moved the OTA updates into the iSmart section now, so implying it is only for the infotainment system, but it's still misleading...... The Danish site still says "OTA updates" for the "luxury" variant (Similar to the Connect in the UK)
I created a video tutorial on how to update the maps:
I hope it helps.
They all update the same way (or don't if you have a checksum error or own a Mac)Thanks for the video, but the car is a Marvel not ZS.
The problem is the checkum Md5, I don't have a Mac but a PC, I format it as in the video, but in the end I always get the same error ?They all update the same way (or don't if you have a checksum error or own a Mac)
Have you tried a different USB stick there are a lot of fake ones aboutThe problem is the checkum Md5, I don't have a Mac but a PC, I format it as in the video, but in the end I always get the same error ?

I thought that there must be some files dropped by the OS or its worker apps. The Windows equivalent pest file seems to be "desktop.ini". Though it doesn't seem to drop those on external drives as much.I bet on the annoying .DS_Store files created by "finder".
