Tyre Pressures and Pumps

Two combined topics, if you please. One, I used up the puncture repair fluid within the first week. (see previous post). I don't intend to buy a refill after reading the comments on these forums, but does the compressor bit still work as a pump and pressure check.
Two, the pressures recommended are 37psi. Every other car I've owned has been 32ish. Does anyone think these recommended pressures are a bit OTT.
 
Yes the compressor / pump should still work to inflate and pressure check the tyres, I carry another similar one in the boot for emergency tyre inflations.

The tyre pressures on my previous car (2020 Polo) had 36psi all round, so I think 37psi sounds fine, I actually think 32psi sounds a bit low.
